How do I perform a full shut down on my Surface Pro?

Unplug power from the docking station

Unplug the surface from the docking station

You need to completely shutdown the device. To do this, press and hold the Volume-up button and the Power button on your Surface at the same time for 30 seconds and then release both of them. The screen may flash the Surface logo, but remember to continue holding down the buttons for 30 seconds.

After doing the above plug in the power to the dock

Turn Surface Pro back on and log in before plugging the surface back into the docking station.
